My favorite lens is the prime Nikon 50mm f/1.4. So sharp and really nice bokeh. Also very portable, which I find one of the most important characteristics of equipment.
The lighting setup I used for Ana & Dave’s photos was mainly off-camera flash through a Lastolite softbox. I used an SB-900 on half power, and shot through the soft box, which ended up kind of being both main and fill light. I always love countering existing sunlight with my own strobe. And I used the 50mm f/1.4 on my D700.
